Product Notes

Babich Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a classic example of this varietal that is known to thrive in the cool climate of New Zealand’s South Island. The wine exhibits a pale yellow color, and the aroma is abundant in tropical fruit flavors with underlying notes of herbs. It is a refreshing and crisp wine bursting with citrus notes, passion fruit, and gooseberry that culminate in a clean finish. The palate is lively, showcasing a pleasing balance of acidity and sweetness. This wine pairs well with seafood, poultry, and salads. Overall, it is a well-balanced and flavorful Sauvignon Blanc that offers exceptional value at an affordable price.

About the Winery

Babich

Babich is one of the most reputed wine names of New Zealand, because it is the oldest brand in the country. Its history dates back to 1912, when Joseph Babich understood the potential of the Marlborough region, considered as one of the premium wine-growing regions in the world today.

Currently, Babich grows grapes on some of the top-notch sites of New Zealand, like the ones below:

Henderson Valley Vineyard in Auckland

It was in 1919 that Joseph Babich understood that this lovely site, situated at the foothills of the Waitakere Mountain Range, would go on to become the prime vineyard of his wine brand. Babich’s headquarters is located here, and this vineyard’s area covers 10 hectares currently. Pinotage, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the main varietals grown here.

Hawke’s Bay Vineyards
