Product Notes

Barone Ricasoli Torricella Chardonnay is a wine of distinct personality, produced in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. This exceptional wine is made from Chardonnay grapes, maturing in oak barrels for 8 months before bottling. The elegant and complex bouquet of this Chardonnay reveals notes of vanilla, honey, apricot, and citrus fruit, intertwined with hints of brioche and hazelnut. The palate is rich and creamy, with a balanced acidity that enhances the flavourful notes of butter and almond, and the long and persistent finish leaves a refreshing aftertaste that lasts for a while. This wine is perfect to serve with shellfish, white meat, or grilled vegetables.

Tasting Notes

Straw yellow in color. To the nose its shows intense aromas of yellow pulp fruit, citrus notes with delicate vanilla scents. The mouth is round, velvety, fresh and long lasting. Complex wine with distinct personality and keen mineral notes that can be savored after many years in the bottle.

About the Winery

Barone Ricasoli

Located in Brolio, the Barone Ricasoli Wine Estate is located across 240 hectares that have witnessed the planting of vines since 1141. That’s over a 1000-year wine-producing history that we are talking about! Today, if you want to taste the rich and authentic Tuscany Chinati Classico wines in their purest forms, you have to drink the wines created at Barone Ricasoli.

Brolio, found in the Chianti area Classic, is known for its strategic location, climate, diverse soil qualities and rich terroirs. You might be surprised to know that this region contains over 19 different soil qualities.  These soil types are categorised into five unique areas that are geologically far different from each other.

Located in hilly areas, the vineyards of Ricasoli can be found at an average altitude of around 200 to 500m above sea level. Since they face the southwest region, they experience a continental climate with very hot and dry summers all through the year.  Sangiovese is the main grape varietal produced here, as the natural climatic conditions and terroirs are great for producing this fruit. Within a single territory (Brolio), Barone Ricasoli produces many types of unique and elegant wines, which bear testimony to the richness of the terroirs here.

The vineyards of Barone Ricasoli are located across these five regions:

Macigno Del Chianti, Casalferro Vineyard – Sangiovese, Merlot, Chardonnnay are grown on the Arenarie soils here

Tuscan Scaglia – Sangiovese is grown on the Argillite di Brolio soils here

Monte Morello, Colledila Vineyard – Alberese soils known for their clay content here are ideal for growing Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot

Marine Deposits, Roncicone Vineyard – Pliocene sandy soils known for their mineral, stone and organic matter content are ideal for growing Sangiovese

Ancient River Terrace, CeniPrimo Vineyard – Known for its Pliocene – Pleistocene silty soils, this region is known for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese varietals.
