With an alcohol content of 14.5%, Battle of Bosworth Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning wine drinkers.

Tasting Notes

Black and blue fruits on the nose, lovely classy oak mixed in amongst it all, with blackberry and blackcurrant on the palate with great length and texture and a fine tannin structure. A delicious Cabernet with super varietal characteristics. McLaren Vale Cabernet, the quiet achiever.

About the Winery

Battle of Bosworth

Battle of Bosworth is a family-owned wine brand based out of one of the premium wine-growing regions in Australia, McLaren Vale. The grapes for these wines are sourced from the group’s own vineyards. The first vineyard for the Battle of Bosworth wines was established in McLaren Vale during as early as the 1840s. Joch Bosworth, who has created this label with the aim to take a legacy forward, reached a new milestone in his career in 1995, when he made the transition to organic viticultural practices.

Located at a short distance from Adelaide, McLaren Vale is considered to be one of the most fertile wine-growing regions in the world. The area’s proximity to the sea makes it a haven for about 300 independent winegrowers who cultivate their vines in the sprawling 5000 hectares under vine in McLaren Vale.

Some of the grape varietals that are cultivated to make the Battle of Bosworth wines are Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.  The vineyards, where these grapes are cultivated, can be found at the base of Mount Lofty. The average elevation of these vines is around 130m above sea level. The unique Urrbrae silt & loam soil lends a lot of character to the fruits grown here.

At the Battle of Bosworth winery, you will find a fantastic blend of traditional and modern winemaking techniques. Joch is quite passionate about his vines and he ensures that he works on his vineyards often to implement new techniques such as pruning, crop thinning, trellising and the like. He, along with his expert team, spends quality time at the winery to experiment on the fermentation container and the temperature to bring out the maximum flavor and character of the fruit in the bottle.  Minimal intervention in the viticultural practices helps to maintain the purity and integrity of the wines created by this label.
