Product Notes

Bodegas Terras Gauda O Rosal is a winery located in the area of O Rosal, Galicia, Spain. With more than two decades of experience in the wine industry, Bodegas Terras Gauda O Rosal is known for producing high-quality, aromatic white wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the region. The winery cultivates its own vineyards, which are located in the region's coastal climate, characterized by moderate temperatures and a sea breeze that favors the development of the vines. The wines produced are complex, fresh and mineral, and have received numerous awards and accolades, making them a popular choice among wine enthusiasts around the world.

Tasting Notes

The result of the combination of the grape varieties is striking. This is a wine of great complexity where clear citrus aromas of mandarín and orange peel, peach and aniseed mingle with pleasant undertones of earth, jasmine blosson and hay leaf. Its powerful structure and character are impressive, filling the palate with fleshiness and velvety sensations. At the same time it is fresh, cheerful and very lively thanks to its excellent acidity, treating us to a pleasant, intense and very long finish. Both its aromas on the palate as well as its taste sensations reflect the good ripening conditions. This wine provides us with two apparently contradictory characteristics: it is a complex wine that is easy to drink

About the Winery

Bodegas Terras Gauda

The Bodegas Terras Gauda, a reputed wine brand from Spain, started from a humble beginning of producing only 37000 bottles from its first harvest in the 1990s.  O Rosal Valley, located within the Rias Baixas Denomination of Origin region was the birth place of this brand. In the subsequent years, the group started to expand its business quite rapidly. Today, it boasts of commercial production of around 1.5million bottles!

There are three wineries and a 160-hectare vineyard under the control of this group currently. These wineries are Bodegas Terras Gauda, Vinedos Y Bodegas Pittacum and Quinta Sardonia. The Terras Gauda group acquired the Bodegas Pittacum in 2002 and the Quinta Sardonia in 2010.

The Bodegas Terras Gauda group is located in the Pontevedra province, in the borders of Portugal. The Mino River provides the much-needed fertility to the vineyards of this region. At this winery, wines are created within the Denomination of Origin Rias Baixas. The grape varietals planted in the 87-hectare vineyards are Albarino (65%), Caino Bianco (24%), Loureiro (10%) and Treixadura (1%).

The Pittacum Winery is blessed with diverse soil types and microclimatic conditions, which help it to produce the right-tasting grapes in the right quantity. The Menca variety of grapes produced here are the flagship fruit of this region and it truly symbolises the personality of this region. You can find this winery in Arganza, in the DO Bierzo region. Only the best grapes from the Bierzo area are used for making wines here.

The Sardonia Quinta Winery can be found at Duero Vallery in the Sardon de Duero Town. The calcareous soils here produce grapes that are a true representation of the awesome terroir here. The 22-hectare winery was established during 1998. The seven grape varietals grown here are Tinto Fino (58.5%), Cabernet Sauvignon (22%), Syrah and Petit Verdot (5% each), Malbec (4%), Merlot (3.5%) and Cabernet Franc (2%).
