Canyon Road

Rafael Jacinto Jofre was born in one of the world’s premium wine regions of Argentina, Mendoza. Right from a young age, he was passionate about winemaking. He worked as a winemaker in Argentina for a few months, and this work experience only fuelled his ambitions of winemaking further. He went on to study winemaking in Argentina, before he enriched his experience by working for quite a few wineries across South America.

In the year 2004, Rafael moved to California to start his winemaking career at Canyon Road Winery. Till today, he crafts some of the novel, elegant and crispy wines under this label. He personally supervises the grapes that are harvested, and tastes them to ensure only the best lots are sent to the winery for processing. Therefore, Canyon Road Wines are expressive as they speak a lot about the character of the terroirs of California.

Rafael uses Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, White Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc varietals for these wines.

Cabernet Sauvignon – With a smooth finish and raspberry taste, this wine is medium-bodied but rich.

Chardonnay – This wine is dominated by a strong flavour of apple and other citrus fruits. This is also a medium-bodied wine with an aroma of cinnamon.

Merlot – The flavours of cherries and blackberry welcome you, as you taste this wine. Don’t miss the soft touches of vanilla and other spices in this elegant wine.

White Zinfandel – With its sharp finish, this wine is known for its dominant flavours of berries and cherries.

Sauvignon Blanc – This is a very light wine with a crisp finish. It contains strong flavours of melons and citrus fruits.

Pinot Grigio – This refreshing wine has a floral touch, and is dominated by flavours of green apple and citrus fruits.

Pinot Noir – This is a rich and deep wine with the strongest flavours of cherries.
