Product Notes

Carpineto Farnito is a prestigious red wine made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the Chianti region of Tuscany. With a deep ruby color and an intense bouquet of black cherry, cassis, and vanilla, this wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels to achieve a balanced flavor and rich texture. On the palate, it offers flavors of ripe fruit, dried herbs, and smooth tannins that make it a perfect match for roasted meat dishes, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes. This full-bodied wine has a long, lingering finish that showcases its exceptional quality and expression of terroir.

Tasting Notes

Full, rich with good depth and concentration of fruit with a hint of spice, liquorice and vanilla. An elegant wine with a lingering finish.

About the Winery

Carpineto

It was the winemaking passion of wine experts, Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo that resulted in the birth of the Italian wine label, Carpineto in the year 1967. The name of the brand is inspired by the Greek word, carpos, which means fruit. Today, the younger generation of these experts are doing their best to take the legacy of the brand forward, in their own style, without compromising on the traditional winemaking methods.

One of the major highlights of the Carpineto wine label is that the makers pay extreme attention to the quality of the fruits that are processed in the winery. The estate was established to bring out the full potential of the red-wine making area of the royal Chianti Classico area in Tuscany. Today, the group owns and controls 439 hectares of vineyards in this region.

Then vineyards from where the Carpineto wines are created are classified into four estates. They are:

Dudda Estate – Located at an altitude of 1000 feet above sea level, this estate is located in the east of the Chianti Classico region. The 8 hectares of vineyards here grow a lot of Sangiovese and Canaiolo varietals.

Gavoranno Estate – This 10-hectare vineyard is the home of the Valcolomba Winery, located in Maremma in the region of Monteregio. The Mediterranean climate of this place is ideal for growing varietals such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Vermentino and Teroldego varietals.

Montepulciano Estate – Located in the Vino Nobile region, this contains 84.5 hectares of vineyards. Clones of Sangiovese and other international varietals are found here.

Montalcino Estate – At 500m above sea level, this estate is the tallest of all. The 10 hectares of vineyards are exclusively dedicated to cultivating the Sangiovese varietal. The winemaking techniques followed at the winery here are 100% sustainable, using modern techniques, but with the goal for the fruits to reflect the integrity of the terroirs.
