Product Notes

Conti Costanti Rosso di Montalcino is a magnificent wine originating from the Tuscany region in Italy. Conti Costanti estate is known for its traditional winemaking techniques and the highest quality Sangiovese grapes that produce this elegant and complex red wine. Rosso di Montalcino is a young wine, considered the little brother of Brunello, but it shares many of the same qualities. Conti Costanti’s Rosso di Montalcino greets the nose with intense aromas of red and black fruits, with a hint of spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with balanced tannins and a long spicy finish, offering an exquisite taste experience. Perfect to pair with red meats or hard cheeses, this wine is an affordable and delicious choice that any wine lover should try.

About the Winery

Conti Costanti

The Constanti Family has a rich history which dates back to as early as the 15th century. This family played an important role in the formation of the Republic of Siena in Montalcino during 1555. The Conti Constanti Italian wine label is today run by the 6th generation of this family. In the year 1983, Andrea Constanti took over a major part of the family’s wine business in Montalcino, and has been creating unique, aromatic and authentic wines ever since. He has been continuously working on innovative ways and techniques to keep up the aromatic quality of wines produced under his label.

The vineyards span an area of 25 hectares, out of which 12 hectares are under vine. The rest is covered with olive groves and woodlands. The Sangiovese grape varietal, known locally as Brunello, is the one that is grown majorly in the vineyards here. The quality and the aroma of these grapes are excellent because they get decent exposure to the sun. The average altitude of these wines is around 310 to 400m above sea level.

Apart from Sangiovese, you will also spot small plots of Merlot and Cabernet here. These are the ones that the group has recently started growing. For the fermentation process, the expert team uses stainless vats. The grapes are fermented on their skins for around 14 to 21 days. The  Brunello vines are aged between 6 and 25 years old here. Therefore, the casks are chosen carefully based on the age of the vines. While the oldest vines are aged in Slavonian oak casks and barriques, the young ones are aged in medium-toast, Allier oak casks.

The popular wines from this label are:

  • Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
  • Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
