Product Notes

The Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc is a fine white wine with a pale golden color. It is made from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grapes from the Marsannay region in Burgundy, France. The wine displays a beautiful bouquet of citrus fruits, green apple, and pear on the nose, with a light hint of floral and spicy aromas. It has a fresh and crisp taste with a subtle, yet lingering finish, revealing a satisfying minerality and acidity. This wine is an excellent pairing with seafood, poultry, and dishes with cream sauces. Its elegance and balance make it a great choice for any occasion.

About the Winery

Domaine Bruno Clair

Bruno Clair set up an eponymous estate in France. This was in 1979. The history of Domaine Bruno Clair is a rather complex one, as is the case with Burgundy wine estates. The story starts in the early 19th century. Bruno is the winegrower's sixth generation.

Joseph Clair, Bruno's grandfather, acquired vines in Chambolle Musigny, Morey Saint Denis, and Gevrey Chambertin between 1930 and 1960. He joined forces with his wife, three children, and sister-in-law to set up Clair DAU estate. In the 50s and 60s, his son and daughter-in-law bought vines in Marsannay, Savigny Les Beaune, Vosne Romanee, and Gevrey Chambertin. Joseph Clair died in 1975, and his son Bernard Clair took over.

Due to internal disagreements, the estate was divided. Bruno was entrusted with Bernard and Genevieve's share. Bruno set up an estate of his own together with his brother and sisters. From this point, the estate had 17 hectares, and they were spread all over the area. Between 1986 to 2005, the family expanded the estate even further by taking advantage of the available opportunities.

Bruno's wife Isabelle became part of the estate in the year 2005. Her main task was handling the business's commercial and administrative aspects. She was given the customer relations responsibilities as well.

The eldest son, Edouard, joined the estate in 2010. Arthur and Margaux followed some years later, joining the estate in 2018. Today, each child has a very specific role at the estate. Edouard handles the vinification process and vines.

Margaux is responsible for all matters of shipping but also participates in the vineyards. Arthur is responsible for the cellar. He works together with Edouard to handle the vinification process. Today, the estate includes 27 hectares that are spread in 8 villages. There are 32 appellations associated with the estate.
