Product Notes

Domaine Le Roc des Anges Blanc Vieilles Vignes Llum is an exceptional white wine that is made from 100% Grenache Blanc grapes. The grapes are sourced from 90-year-old vines in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, which gives the wine its unique complexity and depth of flavor.

With its pale gold color and vibrant aromas of citrus, white flowers, and honey, Llum is a wine that is both elegant and approachable. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-balanced, with crisp acidity and rich, fruity flavors of peach, apricot, and pear.

This wine is a true expression of the region and the winemaker's commitment to producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines. It is perfect for pairing with seafood, grilled meats, or a variety of light dishes.

About the Winery

Domaine Le Roc des Anges

Majorie Gallet, who grew up in one of the lush French regions of Grenoble, had a passion for winemaking right from a young age, because her family was interested in wine and horses for a long time. She and her husband, Stephane, used to go to trips to Roussilon during vacations. This is where, they understood the potential of the Roussilon vines. The plots here resembled those of Grenoble and Cote-Rotie, where Majorie had grown up.

The Carignan vines of the area impressed Majorie a lot. As a result, she set up her own company, Le Roc des Anges in 2001. The vines here are unique and have a distinct character, thanks to the excellent climatic conditions and excellent exposure of vines to sunlight in Roussilon. In 2008, her friend, Stephane joined her company, and there has been no looking back ever since.

The vines in Roussilon are located on the extreme northern side on quartz soil. The white soil here is one of the most distinguishing parts when compared to the other black schists areas nearby. Today, the small plot owned by Majorie is spread across 25 hectares. You can find the vineyard in the Montner region, in the village of Catalonia, against the backdrop of Forca Real Mountains. The varietals that are grown on the vines are Carignan Noir, Blanc, Grenache Noir & Gris, Syrah and Maccabeu.

Stephane and Majorie are known for producing very small quantities of wine under this label. This is the main reason their wines have excellent ageing potential. Some of their wines have a phenomenal average age of about 70 to 100 years! At their vineyard, the couple practices only organic and biodynamic viticultural techniques, to bring out the best of the fruits that they grow with so much care and compassion to the environment.
