Product Notes

Domaine Mas Amiel Maury Vintage Blanc is a delicious white wine produced in the Roussillon region of France. Made primarily from the Grenache Blanc grape, this wine has a bright and refreshing aroma, with notes of tropical fruit and citrus. The flavour is crisp and vibrant, with a subtle sweetness that balances out the acidity. There is a distinct minerality to this wine, which gives it a unique character and depth. The finish is clean and smooth, with a slight hint of spice that lingers pleasantly. Overall, the Domaine Mas Amiel Maury Vintage Blanc is a delightful and complex wine that is perfect for sipping on a warm summer evening.

About the Winery

Domaine Mas Amiel

Located in Roussillon, one of France’s wine-rich regions, Mas Amiel is a huge wine cellar, the biggest in the Maury. The rocky mountains and the rugged terrain of the Agly Valley in Roussillon make this valley one of the most fertile regions in France. History has it that in 1816 a bishop lost one of his wine plots to Raymond Amiel in a bet. This started the birth of Domaine Mas Amiel.

What started off as a 10-hectare plot grew phenomenally to what it is today – 170 hectares! The Mas Amiel Wine Estate is strategically divided into various parcels based on their altitude, seasonal conditions, soil quality and compatibility with certain grape varietals. They are:

Croix D’En Rodrigues – At a height of 433m above sea level, this is the tallest parcel of the estate. Grenache and Lladoner pelut are the varietals grown here.

Mas Fredes – This hot parcel contains 4.5 hectares under vine. The varietals grown here are Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc and Maccabeu.

Deveze – This 2-hectare parcel is known for its diverse soil conditions. Syrah and Grenache Noir are grown here.

Vol de Nuit – This is one of the unique parcels of this wine estate and it is known for its 100% Carignan vines that are over 100 years old.

Cabirou – This 2-hectare parcel is the first-ever dry plot in Maury. It is made up of 80% Grenache Noir and 20% Carignan varietals.

Las Fredes – This warm parcel contains 100% Grenache vines that are over 80 years old.

Cabirou – Est. 1914 – Set up as a dedication to Charles Dupuy, this parcel contains excellent quality of Grenache vines that are over 100 years old.

At the wineries at Mas Amiel, specific winemaking practices are done for different kinds of wines such as dry and fortified. For the fortified wines, this estate makes vintages and oxidised wines.
