Product Notes

Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Chardonnay is a delightful expression of cool-climate Chardonnay sourced from Chile’s coastal Aconcagua Valley. It features intense aromas of tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, subtler notes of apple and pear, and a hint of vanilla spice. On the palate, there is a creamy mouthfeel from aging in oak barrels, and a vibrant acidity that makes it fresh and zesty. The minerality from the calcium-rich soil and ocean influence brings depth and complexity to the wine’s finish. This elegant and refined white wine pairs well with seafood dishes, chicken, or cream-based pasta. It's a true gem of Chilean winemaking.

Tasting Notes

A stunningly complex Chardonnay; toasty oak richness balanced with a steely, mineral backbone and crisp acidity betraying its cool-climate roots

About the Winery

Errazuriz

When you make a list of some of the best Chilean wines, Errazuriz is sure to feature in it. Founded in 1870, this wine label has been making wines that are true to the terroir found in the place of its origin – Aconcagua Valley in Chile. Don Maximiano Errazuriz, the founder of this label planted the first French vines in this region to make innovative and stylish Chilean wines. Today, his descendants have made Errazuriz one of the most sought-after Chilean wines.

The Errazuriz Winery, constructed in 1870, is an architectural marvel, in itself. It took around 14 years to complete this winery construction because it made use of some of the most advanced engineering technologies of that time. The underground cellars have some unique features like brick walls. The mortar for the walls was made using a paste of egg whites and sand. More than a century later, the winery still stands strong and is in use today. Massive barrels are used to store the wine here at a temperature of 12 to 14 degrees Celsius at all times.

In 2009, the company set up a new winery, Don Maximiano Icon Winery, to house some of its highest quality of wines. The winery is known for its completely submerged body and its spiral shape. Thanks to the spiral shape, the fruits and juices move to the next stages with the help of natural gravity here. Another interesting fact about this new winery is that it is completely safe for the environment as it uses geothermal and solar energies for its temperature and light settings.

This place boasts a maximum production capacity of 347,000litres. The bleached concrete construction is a sight to behold, indeed! This winery's inauguration happened in 2010, with over 100 guests in attendance, and these included press and wine connoisseurs worldwide.
