Product Notes

Fattoria di Rodano Chianti Classico is a Tuscan winery that produces an exceptional line of wines. The winery is situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, which is known for producing some of the best wines in the world. The vineyards here are spread across 35 hectares, with the grapes being handpicked and processed using traditional methods. The winery's flagship label, Chianti Classico, is a medium-bodied wine with a ruby-red color, a delicate aroma, and a balanced taste that has hints of black cherry, violet, and tobacco. Other wines produced by Fattoria di Rodano include Rosso Toscano and Riserva, both of which are equally impressive. The winery's commitment to quality and sustainability, combined with traditional winemaking methods, makes Fattoria di Rodano Chianti Classico one of the most respected wineries in Tuscany.

About the Winery

Fattoria di Rodano

The Fattoria di Rodano is one of the reputed Italian wine estates. It is located at a height of around 200 to 300m above sea level on the road that connects Elsa Valley to Castellina in the Chianti region. This was the route that pilgrims took, many years ago, from Northern Europe to Rome. This wine estate is located towards the west of Chianti Classico; therefore, it is blessed with a beautiful view of the hills and sea winds all through the year.

The estate was first purchased in the year 1958. Today, this place is known for making excellent wines from different regions like Chianti Classico DOCG and Toscana. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are the main varietals grown here. The vineyards are spread across 100 hectares, out of which 33% are dedicated to vines. Apart from the varietals mentioned above, the native varietals like Canaiolo and Colorino are also famous here.

Slavonian oak barrels are used for ageing these fruits, which lend a lot of character and elegance to the wines. The Chianti Classico Riserva, which is made from 100% Sangiovese varietal, is the flagship wine of this region. Before they are bottled, these varietals are aged for 24 months in 60% French oak barrels and 20% in new barriques.

Poggialupi, a Tuscan wine, made by this label, is one of the most famous wines here. It is made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot varietals, and it is loved by wine lovers across the world. For these Tuscan wines, these varietals are fermented on their own skins for about 30 days before they are fermented in barrels. No artificial or manufactured yeasts are used in the winery; therefore, the wines are an excellent representation of the terroirs, where the fruits are grown. Currently, the Fattoria di Rodano is one of the reputed and registered members of the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium.
