Product Notes

Lapostolle Grand Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich and full-bodied red wine from the Colchagua Valley in Chile. This Cabernet Sauvignon features intense and complex aromas of red and black fruits, intermingled with notes of spices, tobacco, and vanilla. On the palate, it offers a firm structure and well-balanced acidity, leading to a long and persistent finish. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, giving it a touch of elegance and complexity. Its tannins are soft and silky, making it a perfect complement to grilled meats, hearty stews, and bold cheeses. Overall, Lapostolle Grand Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a delicious and luxurious wine that is sure to impress any red wine enthusiast.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Ruby red with cherry edges. Nose: Fresh red fruit aromas such as strawberry and plum juice, and a spicy expression of cardamom and red paprika. Palate: Medium acidity and juicy tannins with a plum aftertaste.

About the Winery

Lapostolle

You can understand the essence and culture of Lapostolle Wines when you read the brand’s tagline – French by essence, Chilean by birth. Established in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet, this label’s main aim was to spread the wine-rich terroirs of Chile to the world. The seed for starting this label was sown when the couple visited the beautiful Chilean valley of Colchagua. The soil, terroir and the climatic conditions of this place were too good to grow premium-quality vines here.

What started as a small name has now grown into a big name today. Currently, the family-owned wine estate owns 370 hectares under vine, located across three vineyards in Colchagua, Cachapoal and Casablanca. All these vineyards are located in some of the best Chilean terroirs ever; therefore, the fruits produced here are extremely intense and flavourful.

Casablanca Valley – The Atalayas Vineyard located here stretches across 43.3 hectares. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown here in plenty.

Cachapoal Valley – The Las Kuras Vineyard located in this valley is quite close to the Andes Mountain Range. There are 109.9 hectares under vine here. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah vines are found here.

Colchagua Valley – The Apalta Vineyard is located at around 200km away from the main city of Santiago. This vineyard is surrounded by many hills, which makes it perfect for growing varietals such as Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah.

Lapostolle Winery is located in the small region of Cunaco, close to the Santa Cruz town. This is the original winery of this group and it was established in 1994. To date, some of the label’s iconic wines are created here. Stainless steel and French oak barrels are used for fermenting the wines here to retain the character of the grapes used.
