Product Notes

Litmus Wines Element 20 is a finely crafted English wine that embodies a unique blend of Pinot Noir and Meunier, grown in Hampshire's iconic chalky soil. This sparkling wine is classified as a Brut Nature - meaning that it has no added sugar - and is the perfect accompaniment to any occasion. Element 20 is an explosion of complexity on the palate, offering a range of subtle flavors that blend together harmoniously, resulting in a wine that is both bold and delicate. Hand-picked and gently pressed, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks before undergoing a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This process gives Element 20 its effervescence and long-lasting flavor profile, making it one of the most revered wines on the market today.

About the Winery

Litmus Wines

Litmus Wines was a company established in the year 2008 by three friends, John Worontschak, Mike Florence and Mathieu Elzinga. The company is located in Dorking’s Denbies Wine Estate in the county of Surrey. All three of them had a lot of interest and passion for winemaking. Litmus Wines was founded to give wings to their dreams of running a successful wine business.

Litmus works with a lot of associate partners in various countries such as Australia, South Africa and Germany to create high-quality wines from excellent vines and terroirs. The Litmus label of wine is created by highly experienced winemaker, John Worontschak. Though he was making wine since 1988, he released his first wine for this label in the year 2010.

Today, the Litmus range has four types of wines such as:

Element 20 – made from a blend of 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Gris and 30% Pinot Blanc

White Pinot – made from 100% Pinot Noir that is carefully handled throughout the winemaking process

Orange – made from 100% Bacchus that are carefully selected and harvested by hand

Since it works with a lot of winegrowers, the Litmus Group selects some of the best vineyard sites located across Surrey and Essex. The group gives full freedom to the vineyard owners to grow premium fruits that help to create wines that are well-balanced.

The associate partners of Litmus Wines include:

Stepp (Germany) – Grapes used for the wines are from two vineyards in Pfalz.

Mont Rochelle (South Africa) – Grapes are grown on Mont Rochelle and Franschhoek Valley here.

Ginking (England) – Wines are created from grapes grown in Denbies Wine Estate.

Denbies Wine Estate (England) – The estate is located on the Cliffs of Dover and the vineyards here are suitable for cool-climate varietals such as Chardonnay.

Chris Ringland (Australia) – Famous for Shiraz grapes grown in the Barossa Valley
