Product Notes

Miguel Torres Santa Digna Merlot is a premium red wine from Chile that is renowned for its exceptional flavor and character. Made from handpicked, ripe Merlot grapes grown in the heart of the Curico valley, this wine is deep ruby red in color, with aromas of cherries, plums, and blackberries. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with soft tannins that complement the rich fruit flavors, leading to a long and satisfying finish. The wine is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels, which lends a subtle hint of vanilla and spices to the flavor profile. Enjoy it with roasted meats, pasta dishes, or a selection of mature cheeses. Miguel Torres Santa Digna Merlot is a must-try for any wine connoisseur looking for a well-balanced, full-bodied wine that captures the essence of the Chilean terroir.

Tasting Notes

Following several years of experimentation, we decided to introduce plantations into several climates, from the torrid coastal strip to the coolest of areas, Río Claro. By blending these diferent origins we obtain a Merlot with great aromatic intensity, plum and blackberry jam mixed with spicy hints of vanilla and liquorice. A very attractive and elegant palate, enriched with toasted notes acquired through its oak ageing and a long aftertaste with lingering spices.

About the Winery

Miguel Torres

Miguel Torres, a family-owned wine estate in Chile, has been in business for 30 years. Established in 1979, this company has been producing wines with utmost respect for the environment and terroirs where its grapes are grown. Miguel Torres was originally from Spain, but when he arrived at the Curico Valley in Chile in 1979, he knew that he had to start his winemaking business from there, because of the excellent soil quality and climate conditions of the location.

Currently, Miguel Torres and his team, have been focusing on making organic wines and have also got the Fair Trade Certification for the fair winemaking principles followed at the estate.
