Product Notes

Miguel Torres Santa Digna Syrah is a bold and complex red wine that showcases the unique terroir of the Colchagua Valley in Chile. This wine takes advantage of the ideal climate and soil conditions to create a rich and expressive wine that is perfect for any occasion. With its deep violet color, this wine offers a bouquet of ripe blackberry, black cherry, and plum, followed by notes of toasted oak and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, with smooth tannins and a long finish. This well-balanced wine pairs excellently with roasted meats, game, and flavorful cheeses, making it a great addition to any meal or celebration.

Tasting Notes

Since reaching Chile in 1979, we have conducted some interesting viticultural experiments with different grape varieties. One of these, Shiraz, did not appear to really thrive in Curicó so after a few years we tried planting it in Linares, 140 km further south. There, growing in poor, well-drained soils, Shiraz provides low-yield but excellent harvests. Enjoy its intense, purple colour and its aroma with hints of small black fruits, violet and redcurrant.

About the Winery

Miguel Torres

Miguel Torres, a family-owned wine estate in Chile, has been in business for 30 years. Established in 1979, this company has been producing wines with utmost respect for the environment and terroirs where its grapes are grown. Miguel Torres was originally from Spain, but when he arrived at the Curico Valley in Chile in 1979, he knew that he had to start his winemaking business from there, because of the excellent soil quality and climate conditions of the location.

Currently, Miguel Torres and his team, have been focusing on making organic wines and have also got the Fair Trade Certification for the fair winemaking principles followed at the estate. Miguel Torres wines are made from grapes cultivated across some of the best wine regions in Chile such as the following:

Manso de Velasco – century-old vineyard, where 10 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon grow

San Luis De Alico – Located in San Clemente; 40-hectare vineyard where Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Viognier grow
