Product Notes

Peller Estates Signature Series Cabernet Franc Icewine is an excellent wine with a rich, dark color and intense flavors. This wine is made from high-quality Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the Niagara Peninsula region. The grapes are harvested after the first frost, which intensifies their flavor and sweetness. The result is a luxurious, dessert-style wine that is velvety and rich on the palate with a full, fruity taste. It has notes of dark cherry, raspberry, and black currant that are perfectly balanced with a touch of acidity. This wine is best served chilled and can be paired with rich chocolate desserts or creamy cheeses for a luxurious finish to your meal.

About the Winery

Peller Estates

The wines created at Peller Estates are true examples of the fact that it does make sense to follow one’s passion. The founder of this Canadian wine label, Andrew Peller moved from his home country, Hungary to Halifax in Canada, in search of better prospects. After years of struggle, he understood his calling, when he planted his first vines in Okanagan Valley, in British Columbia. Within a few years, the brand grew so big that it went to win many awards at national & international platforms.

Today, Andrew Peller’s legacy is beautifully taken forward by his son and grandson in such a way that Canadian wines have earned a huge deal of respect from wine connoisseurs as well. Andrew Peller, at 58 years, opened quite a few wineries in the areas of British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia to make it easy for processing wines.

The wines created here are classified into three main ranges; Signature, Private Reserve and Icewine. Regardless of the range you choose, you can be assured of wines that are true representations of the quality of the terroir where the fruits are grown. Sustainable winemaking techniques such as minimal intervention, hand-picking of grapes, controlling their exposure to the sun and handling the fruits with great care are some examples of these techniques.

Today, the wine industry has grown phenomenally in Canada. Like the other Americans and Europeans, Canadians too, started appreciating and flaunting their wines to the outside world. A major reason for this popularity of Canadian wines is the initiative of Andrew Peller, who chose British Columbia to first plant his vines.

Gamay Noir, Baco Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are the common varietals used to create red wines under the Peller label. Muscat, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer are used for making white wines here.
