About the Winery

Perez Cruz

If you are looking for wines that reflect the true character and intensity of the Maipo Alto Valley in Chile, you should try the Perez Cruz wines, made from Bordeaux varieties of grapes.

Focusing exclusively on red wines, Perez Cruz is a family-owned winery located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The stony soils and the Mediterranean climate of this place help to produce rich-bodied grapes with natural acidity. Cabernet Sauvignon is the flagship varietal of this label.

All the wines produced here are of the single-estate type; therefore, the company has a lot of control in the winemaking process right from the vineyards till the time the wines are bottled. The expert winemakers employed at the winery here help in following sustainable winemaking practices in the winery. Some of these practices include following minimal intervention during the cultivation & harvest processes, maintaining a systematic approach while handling the fruits and using natural gravity to feed the grapes in the machines.

The chill mountain air, along with the breeze from the Pacific Ocean helps the fruits to ripen slowly but naturally. Thanks to this the acidity and polished tannins found in the grapes found here stand out remarkably well. Currently, the group owns around 150 hectares of vineyards. The composition of varietals posted here is as follows – 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carmenere, 5% Syrah, 5% Malbec, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot are grown on the Liguai Estate. Oak barrels are used for fermentation purposes at the winery here.

Some of the popular wines created under this label are:

Quelen – Made from a blend of Bordeaux varieties

Liguai – Made from a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere

Pircas – Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Chaski – Made from selected grapes from specific terroirs (92%Petit Verdot and 8% Chardonnay
