Product Notes

Quails' Gate Chardonnay is a premium white wine from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. It is made from 100% estate grown grapes that are carefully handpicked and sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used. The resulting wine is crisp and refreshing, with a rich and creamy mouthfeel. Aromas of ripe tropical fruit, apple, and vanilla lead to a palate filled with flavors of lemon curd, butterscotch, and hazelnut. The wine is barrel-aged for 8 months in a combination of French and American oak, which imparts subtle notes of toast and spice. Quails' Gate Chardonnay is a perfect pairing for seafood dishes, grilled chicken, and creamy pastas.

Tasting Notes

Pale lemon in the glass, expect aromas of ripe orchard fruit, briochie and a hint of minerality. The palate is bursting with bright stone fruit flavours along with a hint of butterscotch and citrus. This wine has very good intensity, a nice texture and beautiful mouthwatering acidity.

About the Winery

Quails' Gate

Quails’ Gate, established in 1956, is a family-owned winery in Canada. The dedication and passion of the family behind this label has made this one of the best Canadian wines that you can ever get to taste. Over the past thirty years, over three generations of family members have managed this winery with the same tradition and winemaking culture that was followed in 1956. Located in the scenic Okanagan Valley, Quails’ Gate is currently a famous culinary destination in Canada.

The three main objectives of this winery are to provide high-quality wines always, give visitors an unforgettable experience on their visit here, and offer unparalleled customer service. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Quails’ Gate has been delivering quite wonderfully on all these three fronts.

Quails’ Gate produces many award-winning wines due to the unique and scintillating terroirs found on the south-facing slope of the Okanagan Valley. With sustainable winemaking techniques followed here, the team ensures that all vines are hand-harvested. The crop yields are always kept low. So, the wines produced are true representations of the integrity and character of the fruits.

The vineyards, where grapes are grown to produce high-quality wines are:

Boucherie Bench – This vineyard comprises of two parts – Upper Boucherie Bench and Lower Boucherie Bench. Chasselas, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are planted on the Lower Bench.  In the Upper Bench, you will mostly find varietals such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Marechal Foch.

Located right below the mountain of Boucherie, the 160 acres of vineyards are spread across rich and historic volcanic soils that produce some of the best quality grapes for premium wines of this place. Drip irrigation is followed in almost 95% of the vineyards here, because sustainability is the key.
