Product Notes

Radford Dale Black Rock Red Blend is a premium South African wine that is made primarily from the Syrah grape variety, with small amounts of Mourvèdre and Viognier included in the mix. This wine is a deep, dark color, and boasts rich, complex flavors that are both velvety and intense on the palate. Notes of blackberry, raspberry, and dark chocolate are complemented by hints of spice and a subtle minerality, making this red blend a truly elegant and sophisticated creation. Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of hearty dishes, Radford Dale Black Rock Red Blend is sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseur.

Tasting Notes

The nose shows complexity through interesting spice and fynbos aromas anda prominent dark fruit note. On the palate, the wine delights with generous concentration and refined, smooth texture.

About the Winery

Radford Dale

Radford Dale is a South African wine brand that is famous for its refreshing wines. It was founded in 1998. Alex Dale, a Brit, and Ben Radford, an Australian, are the joint partners of this brand. They set up this brand with the sole objective of making high-quality wines from the vineyards spread across the Western Cape. Alex and Radford have many years of wine experience between them, which reflects in the quality of wines that they craft under this label.

The Winery of Good Hope is the most famous winery of Radford Dale. It is known for its exclusive Chenin Blanc cultivation. It is located in the premium winemaking region of Stellenbosch and it is known for its natural winemaking methods. This winery is known for its ethical and eco-friendly vinification methods. The cellars of this winery are located on the high Helderberg Mountain. The cool mountain and the pleasant climate ensure that the Chenin Blanc grape cultivated here is of premium quality.

Some of the popular wines of this brand are the following:

  • Thirst Cinsault 2017
  • Thirst Gamay 2017
  • Chardonnay 2017
  • Freedom Pinot Noir 2016
  • Nudity 2015
  • Renaissance Chenin Blanc 2017
  • Gravity 2010

The winemaking at the Winery of Good Hope is made using minimal intervention techniques. The red wines and white wines are prepared in such a way that the flavour and character of the grapes are retained throughout the vinification process.  While preparing red wines, Radford Dale Wines insists on using small open-top fermenters made from oak and natural fermentation methods to ensure that the wines come out as full-flavoured, when they are released into the market.

The Radford Dale brand gives a lot of importance to the soil, climate and people while crafting wines.  They grow only those varietals of grapes that suit the soil quality, which makes them special.
