About the Winery

Raymond Vineyards

Raymond Vineyards, the Napa Valley-based wine estate was established during 1970 by the Raymond family. They started off by creating their own winery in Rutherford, on a property that covered 90 acres. Within 4 years, the first commercial wine was created by this label. Since then, the brand has become one of the most iconic wine producers in the Napa Valley region.

Today, the group owns around 300 acres of vineyards in three distinct regions of Napa Valley. Each of these regions has unique soil quality and climatic conditions, favouring them to produce certain grape varietals. Apart from these 300 acres, the Raymond Family has also joined hands with over 15 winegrowers in the Napa Valley to make use of fruits grow in their vineyards as well. This way, the family makes the best use of the fruits grown in different climatic conditions & altitudes of the valley.

The family’s own vineyards are set up in these areas:

St. Helena Vineyard – Spread across 10 acres, this vineyard is located near Stice lane. The Pleasanton loamy soil, along with the warm temperatures of this place, makes it ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon.

Rutherford Vineyard – Located near Zinfandel Lane, this 90-acre vineyard was the first plot bought by the Raymond Family. There are 81 acres under vine here, dedicated to growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Jameson Canyon Vineyard – This 210-acre vineyard is influenced by the climate of the San Pablo Bay located nearby. The hills, coastal breezes and cool climate of this place make it ideal for growing Chardonnay, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc on the 130acres that are under vine here.

Out of these the vineyards at St. Helena and Rutherford are classified as organic vineyards where biodynamic viticultural practices are followed every day. Also, apart from vines, sheep, goats and chickens are maintained on the vineyards as part of the group’s bio-diverse farming techniques.
