Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with light dishes such as seafood or salads, Sokol Blosser Evolution Lucky No. 9 White is sure to impress.

Tasting Notes

Aromatic wine with heaps of citrus notes like lychee and lime zest, hints of tropical fruit and just a touch melon. Bright acidity lingers on the finish to balance with residual sugar.

About the Winery

Sokol Blosser

In the year 1971 Bill Blosser and Susan Sokol Blosser planted their first vines in a high potential area in Oregon. Until then, Oregon didn’t have any wine brand to boast about. Today, the first vines that the Blossers planted have grown into a big Sokol Blosser brand, which has also become of the face of the Oregon wine industry.

With over 500 wineries and 19000 acre of vineyards, this brand has grown by a large extent. The Dundee Hills of Oregon is the area where the Blosser vineyard is located. This 128-acre is blessed with a high altitude and warm nights, a condition that you can find in the wine-rich area of France, Burgundy. Therefore, the Pinot Noir, which is the speciality of Burgundy, is grown well in Dundee Hills as well.

Some of the popular vineyards where grapes are sourced from, to create Sokol Blosser wines are:

  • New Watershed Block
  • New Old Vineyard
  • Big Tree Block
  • Goosepen Block
  • Blackberry Block
  • Fir Island Block
  • New 12-Row Block
  • Orchard Block
  • Peach Tree Block
  • Walnut Block
  • Concert Block
  • Bluebird Block
  • Red House Block
  • Betty Block Muller-Thurgau
  • Cattail Block
  • Sokol Blosser Winery/Cellar

The Pinot Noir, being a temperamental fruit, requires special care while treating it, in order to create world class wines. The winemaking team at Sokol Blosser is fully aware of this. This is why it adopts to delicate techniques such as hand harvesting, small-lot fermentation, careful selection before entry into the fermenter, destemming without crushing the fruits and cluster-pressing the white grape varietals.

The red Jery soil of the Dundee Hill region is rich in iron and very fertile. The above mentioned techniques and the excellent soil quality help in retaining the natural flavours of the Pinot Noir grape varietals that are cultivated here.
