Product Notes

Weingut Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg QbA Mosel Riesling is a premium quality German wine with a refined taste and aroma. The wine is made from the Riesling grapes grown in the Mosel region, which is known for producing some of the world’s best Riesling wines. The wine has a pale yellow color with a hint of green. Its aroma is characterized by ripe fruits, honey, and a hint of minerality. On the palate, it delivers a prominent acidity, a lively texture, and a long-lasting finish. The wine can be paired with various dishes, but it's a perfect match for seafood and chicken dishes. Weingut Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg QbA Mosel Riesling is an excellent choice for wine enthusiasts who appreciate fine wine with unique qualities.

Tasting Notes

Fresh and herbal aromas, with racy acidity on the palate. Piquant but light, with juicy sweetness perfectly balanced with mineral notes.

About the Winery

Weingut Markus Molitor

Markus Molitor is a 8th generation winemaker from the Molitor family. He took over his father’s winery in the mid-1980s to produce some exceptional Riesling wines from the region of Moselle in Germany. Today, many aspiring winemakers consider him as the Riesling ambassador of the German wine industry. Markus operates with the main aim of producing natural wines in the vineyard and cellar, with minimal intervention and utmost respect to the terroirs.

The German Rieslings from the Moselle and Saar regions were one of the most expensive wines (even costlier than Burgundy and Bordeaux wines) in the world in the early 1800s. The elevated vineyards of Moselle, Saar and Ruwer, along with the microclimate and beautiful terroirs of the place helped to create Rieslings with amazing minerality and elegance.

All Molitor wines are cultivated on some of the best parcels of Moselle as follows:

  • Bernkasteler Doctor – 0.13-hectares; Devonian slate soils
  • Bernkasteler Badstube  - Slate and fine soils for fruity wines
  • Bernkasteler Lay – 11-hectares; ancient vines
