Product Notes

Xanadu Exmoor Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium Australian wine with a rich and complex flavor profile. This red wine is made from grapes harvested from the Margaret River region and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. The result is a dark, full-bodied wine with intense flavors of blackcurrant, plum, and dark chocolate. The tannins are firm yet well-balanced, giving the wine a long and delightful finish. The Xanadu Exmoor Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with red meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. It is a true delight for any wine lover who appreciates a bold and sophisticated wine.

About the Winery

Xanadu

Located in the scenic township of the Australian region of Margaret River, Xanadu Wines is one of the most reputed and respected brands in this locality. It was established in 1977 by Dr. John Lagan. The wines crafted here are of extremely great quality because of the excellent Mediterranean climate that prevails all through the year. The climate and soil quality of this place is ideal for growing the highest quality of choicest of grapes.

The vines are grown across 17 hectares in Lagan Estate, in the unique vertical shoot positioning style. The grape varietals that these vines are famous for are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The Reserve Wine created by the low-yielding Chardonnay variety is considered as one of the flagship products of the Xanadu Wines brand.

The Stevens Road vineyard was set by Xanadu in 1989 and there are24 hectares of vines here producing some of the best qualities of Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Graciano, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz Muscadelle.  Out of these, the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are considered to be the two most stellar varietals of grapes in this region.

The Boodjidup Estate is the newly added vineyard of Xanadu and it is located quite close to the original Lagan Estate. Set up in 1999, this vineyard comprises of 47 hectares. Out of this, 23 hectares are used to grow the grape varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon. Almost all the premium wines of the brand are made from grapes grown in this vineyard.  The remaining 22 hectares are used to grow varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Semillon.

Currently, the Xanadu Wine brand is the proud manufacturer of many wines, which includes 3 famous award-winning products such as the 2017 Xanadu (made from DJL Sauvignon Blanc Semillon),  2016 Xanadu Reserve (made from Chardonnay) and 2015 Xanadu Stevens Road (made from Cabernet Sauvignon).
