Château La Gorce

About Château La Gorce

Lagorce, also known as the Great Gorce refers to a type of vegetation that is found in the Haux commune. It is based on this 16th-century vegetation that the wine estate, Chateau Lagorce got its name. Located in the southwestern part of France, this estate was originally a castle in the administrative region of Gironde. In the 17th century, the Faux family members planted the first Barsac and Sauternes vines in the Lagorce vineyards.

After being managed by different families, this estate is currently managed by the Holmes family. After a series of renovation projects, today, the estate has most of its ancient charm intact. Located very near the premium wine region in France, Bordeaux, the Lagorce Estate is a sight to behold today. It is a heritage complex that contains lavish bedrooms and reception areas to attract tourists.

This castle is currently one of the loved venues for organising weddings, private parties, golf events and other intimate gatherings. You can rent a chateau here on this beautiful castle for a celebration of your choice. Its proximity to the Bordeaux and Saint Emilion vineyards make it one of the scenic chateaus in France.

There are over 21 air-conditioned, massive guest suites in this castle, and these can accommodate up to 52 guests at a time. Please remember that you have to book the chateau in its entirety for functions. Also, thanks to its prime location, the castle gets fully booked well in advance. So, you need to make your bookings quite early if you don’t want to get disappointed.

Medoc Cru Bourgeois – This is the flagship wine of this label. It is a red wine that contains 13.5% alcohol in it. The authentic Medoc blend is created by mixing 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 55% Merlot. Very old vines are used for making this wine.
