The family-owned Thelema Mountain Vineyards are located in the highly wine-rich area of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Thelema wines and Sutherland wines are created from the grapes produced at these vineyards. The Thelema vineyards are located towards the south east of Simonsberg Mountain at an altitude of about 530m above sea level. This altitude enables in growing high quality and premium grapes.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the main grape varietal found here. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the quality of this grape varietal has put the Stellenbosch area on the international platform. The first wine under the Thelema label was released during 1988 and became an instant sell-out within a month.
