Product Notes

Andeluna 1300 Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium red wine from Mendoza, Argentina. Made from carefully selected grapes grown at an altitude of 1,300 meters, this wine offers an intense and complex bouquet of black fruits, spices, and hints of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured, with ripe tannins, a good acidity, and a long-lasting finish. This outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, which imparts an elegant touch of vanilla and caramel to the wine. Andeluna 1300 Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect match for red meat, game, and hard cheeses.

Tasting Notes

Nuances of red bell pepper combine with hint of spice, white pepper and clove over deep, rich fruits. Full bodied and textured on the palate with rounded tannins, big fruit flavours and a spicy, persistent finish.

About the Winery

Andeluna

The wines of Argentina are known for their unique flavours because of the quality of the terroirs where the fruits are grown. The wines from the Andeluna label are no exception to this rule. These wines were created to represent the unique climatic conditions and rocky soils, rich in limestone and minerals. Every single bottle of Andeluna wine produced reflects the beautiful nature of the terroirs found in the region of Gualtallary in Tupungato.

Ever since the Andelua wine brand was established in the year 2003, it aimed to bring out the best of the Argentinian terroir quality. Ward Lay partnered with the Reina Rutini family in the earlier years to use their winemaking expertise to make authentic Argentinian wines. Currently, the Barale family runs the Andeluna wine estate, vineyards and cellars.

The fruits for the authentic Andeluna wines are grown in two main areas. Gualtallary, located at a distance of 10km from Tupungato in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, is the more important of the two cultivation areas. The second area can be found at Villa Atuel in the Mendoza province. The wines that are created under this label are classified into three ranges – Pasionado, Andeluna Altitud and Andeluna 1300.

The Pasionado line consists of wines that are created to reflect the exquisite terroir quality of the Gualtallary region. The calcareous soil here helps to grow intense-flavoured grapes such as Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

The Andeluna Altitud line consists of wines that have a brilliant blend of fruit and wood in their flavours. The unique Andes mountain climate, along with the terroirs of Tupungato, is reflected in the concentrated Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grown here.

The Andeluna 1300 line consists of wines made from grapes grown in the Uco Valley at a height of 1300m above sea level. Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Torrontes, Merlot and Chardonnay are some of the varietals used in this line.
