The 2021 vintage stands out as a memorable achievement, offering a refined expression that is both fresh and profoundly deep. Macán 2021 matured for a total of 18 months in barrels, extra fine and fine grain French wood, the majority in new barrels and the rest in second-use barrels, and casks, followed by six months in oak vats, then has 28 months of bottle ageing before release.

The venture and endeavour for Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia began in 2004 due to the union of the Compagnie Vinicole Barón Edmond de Rothschild and Tempos Vega Sicilia, as suggested by the winery’s name. The companies shared a common dream and goal of producing and marketing superior wines in the province and autonomous community of La Rioja. They aimed to make excellent products in the singular, inimitable, and unique wine region that could touch the hearts of thousands of people all across the globe.
