Tasting Note

Deep violet colour, elegant and complex nose, with ripe red and black berry fruits aromas with notes of flowers as violet and lavender, leather and a touch of spices and vanilla. Mouthfeel is full and rich, sweet tannins and smooth structure. Mid palate has layers of blackberries and blackcurrant with hints of licorice, vanilla and black pepper.

Bodega Catena Zapata Catena Alta Malbec is a highly acclaimed wine made from carefully selected grapes grown in the vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina, one of the world's great wine regions. Made using traditional winemaking techniques, this wine is aged in French oak barrels for 16 months before being bottled. On the palate, notes of black cherry, plum and vanilla are complemented by a rich tannic structure, resulting in a full-bodied and complex wine with a long, smooth finish. The Catena Alta Malbec is evenly balanced and pairs perfectly with grilled meats and hearty dishes. It is a must-try for any Malbec lover.

Located in the sub-appellation region of Argentina, Bodega Catena Zapata is a beautiful winery. It is a family-owned winery that was first established in 1902 by the Italian Nicolas Catena. A distinguishing feature of this winery is its pyramid-like design. Catena set up this winery with the prime objective of introducing the European style of winemaking in Argentina.
