About Château Lafleur-Gazin
Château Lafleur-Gazin is an exceedingly reputed winery in Pomerol, a famous AOC and wine region or commune in France. The winery’s history starts ambiguous, with suggestive traces and evidence that the wine estate remained under the ownership and management of the Borderie family in the 20th century. It continued to do so for almost three generations before Maurice Borderie passed down the property to Madame Defour-Borderie, his daughter. In 2020, the wine estate and property of Château Lafleur-Gazin came under the ownership and administration of Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix. Nevertheless, the winery’s operations continued to run or function under the Moueix team well before that, since 1976.
Château Lafleur-Gazin lies on the northern edge of Pomerol, between Château La Fleur-Pétrus and Château Gazin. It allows the parcels and vineyards of the winery to enjoy and benefit from the ideal and superior microclimate of the region. It, in turn, facilitates the development and maturation of excellent grapevines bearing outstanding-quality fruits. Furthermore, the soil of the region’s terroirs is highly diverse. It ranges from clay to gravel to silt. It enables the different varieties and categories of grapevines to thrive well once planted and looked after.
Château Lafleur-Gazin follows a traditional approach to its vinification, viticulture, and vineyard management practices and methods. The winery’s workers and staff put immense care and attention when tending to the fields and working in the cellars. It, in turn, allows Château Lafleur-Gazin to ensure and retain the quality and standard of each bottle of wine without any exceptions or compromises.
The wines developed by Château Lafleur-Gazin possess a supply, fleshy, and plump taste and flavour with traces and touches of silky tannins and ripe fruit. They express the characteristics and qualities of their terroirs, enabling them to go well with several dishes and cuisines of varying types.
