Product Notes

Dalrymple Pipers River Pinot Noir is a premium wine that has been crafted using the finest grapes from the Pipers River region in Tasmania. This Pinot Noir boasts a rich and complex flavor profile with notes of dark cherry, raspberry, and spice complementing a velvety texture. Aromas of dried herbs, mushroom, and dark chocolate fill the nose, while a smooth and silky finish leaves a lasting impression. This wine has been aged in oak barrels for 12 months, adding subtle oak flavor and enhancing the wine's depth and complexity. Overall, Dalrymple Pipers River Pinot Noir is a wine that is meant to be savored and appreciated by wine lovers who appreciate a premium-quality Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes

A brilliant purple-red colour that shines in the glass. Aromas of violets, crushed boysenberry and blackberry with hints of roasted cinnamon, clove and green pepper. A balanced mid palate leads to a fine tannin finish with spices and length supported by French oak.

About the Winery

Dalrymple

Founded in 1987, Dalrymple Vineyards got established by Anne Sundstrup and Bertel Sundstrup. As visionaries, they travelled to France to attain guidance and inspiration in the art of winemaking. The Sundstrup couple planted their first vines on the sloping hills overlooking the Bass Strait that separates the Australian mainland from the island of Tasmania.

In recent times, Dalrymple Vineyards possess vineyard plantations and estates at Tamar Valley and Pipers River. The areas get blessed by bald and windswept hills, sideways rain, the roaring gales from the northwest, and the primitive gums that lean at an angle. The vineyards coexist with the land and nature, accepting profits while ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship. The plants obtain a natural acidity that provides intense flavours to the berries and roots. Additionally, the optimal levels of sunshine and rainfall that the land experiences promote the growth of the grapevines.

Dalrymple Vineyards splits the plantings between sauvignon blanc and pinot noir. Their wines are made in Jansz Tasmania. Peter Caldwell became the person in charge of the viticulture, vineyard, and winemaking in ’10. He brought and used his 2 years of experience from Josef Chromy Wines and 10 years’ from Te Kairanage Wines of New Zealand. With his comprehensive knowledge of chardonnay and pinot noir, he raised the status and reputation of the winery to a high level.

Dalrymple Vineyards combines and incorporates the elements of art, science, and earth. They create an incomparable standard of their products seamlessly. They experiment and explore to produce wines of complex character, texture, flavour, and weight. The winery was established by visionaries, and today, it ismaintained and run by believers. Dalrymple Vineyards knows that anything exceptional does not come without effort. Thus, they work with the motto that anything worth possessing has value in waiting for it.
