Tasting Note

A powerful wine showing sweet fruit, prunes and hints of pepper with a smooth texture; fine fruit and structure with a lovely length.

Product Notes

Domaine Saint Damien’s Gigondas Classique Vieilles Vignes is a red wine with a strong character and a great depth of flavor. This vintage is made from grapes harvested from vineyards that are over 60 years old, which gives the wine its mature and complex profile. The aroma of this wine is rich with dark fruit notes, such as blackberry and cherry, and a hint of spice. On the palate, the taste is bold and velvety, with a strong tannic structure that leads to a lively finish. This is a wine that can age beautifully and is the perfect pairing for hearty, rich dishes.

About the Winery

Domaine Saint Damien

Located in the rich appellation of Gigondas in Rhone Valley, the France-based Domaine Saint Damien wine company is one of the most respected and reputed labels in this area. It is a family-owned company run by the Saurel Family since 1821. Currently, the youngest member of this family, Joel Saurel, runs the estate and the winery. In 1979, the family named the vineyard, “Saint Damien” as a memory of a church that used to once stand in the location of the lands.
