Ekuo is a classic Italian organic wine, produced as part of a charity project by the Cielo e Terra Winery, which was established in 1908. Giovanni Cielo was the one who established this year almost a century ago. Today, the younger generations of his family-run this winery very well, and have contributed to the society as well. Ekuo, a charity project started by them, is based on the philosophy, “to do good and to do it well.”
Ekuo Wines was started to provide job opportunity to the locals. Therefore, apart from winemaking, there are also other entertainment activities such as cinemas and shopping offered to the tourists coming here. Ekuo wines represent the true character of the Berici Hills, close to where the vines are cultivated. The volcanic soils of the Verona & Padua hills, along with the mild climatic conditions, have enabled the place to create high-quality and intense vines for many centuries now.
The Cielo family members have joined hands with the local vine-growers to use their well-cultivated grapes to make the Ekuo wines. At the winery, the grapes undergo various stages of filtering to ensure that only the mature and ripe fruits are used for processing. Cold vinification process and gentle-pressing of the grapes are some methods employed here to retain the flavour, aroma and character of the fruits. Ekuo Merlot Bio – This is made from 100% Merlot grapes. The dark-red coloured wine contains 13% alcohol content in it.
Ekuo Spumante Bio – This is a yellow-coloured, dry wine, which is made from a blend of Garganega and Trebbiano. It has 11% alcohol content. It is known for its fresh & floral aroma.
Ekuo Chardonnay Bio – This is an organic, white wine made from 100% Chardonnay. This wine has 12.5% alcohol content.
