Bodega Numanthia

Founded in 1998, Bodega Numanthia is one of the leading estates in Spain's prestigious Toro DO, located in the village of Valdefinjas in the province of Zamora, Castilla y León. The winery was established by a group of visionary Spanish winegrowers who recognised the extraordinary potential of the region's ancient Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) vineyards, many of which are ungrafted and over a century old. Since 2008, the estate has been owned by Moët Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH, whose investment has further strengthened Numanthia's international reputation while preserving its artisanal approach to viticulture and winemaking.

Today, the estate is led by Estate Director Julio Rodriguez Buren, with Jesús Jiménez serving as Technical Director and Marine Roussel as Winemaker. The winery manages approximately 83 hectares of organically certified vineyards, cultivated without irrigation to showcase the resilience and concentration of the historic vines. Numanthia produces three flagship wines—Termes, Numanthia, and the iconic Termanthia—all made exclusively from Tinta de Toro. Renowned for their depth, power and elegance, these wines have established Bodega Numanthia as one of Spain's benchmark producers, with Termanthia earning global acclaim, including multiple perfect 100-point scores from leading wine critics.
