About Casa Marin
Casa Marín is a pioneering boutique winery located in the coastal village of Lo Abarca, just a few kilometers from the Pacific Ocean in Chile’s San Antonio Valley. Founded in 2000 by María Luz Marín, it is celebrated as the first winery in Chile to be established and led by a woman winemaker. Her bold decision to plant vines in what was once considered an unsuitable, cold, and windy area transformed the perception of Chilean coastal viticulture.
The estate spans around 40 hectares of steep, rolling hills with soils rich in limestone and clay, perfectly suited for cool-climate varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. Casa Marín’s proximity to the ocean gives its wines distinctive freshness, minerality, and saline character, making them some of the most expressive in South America.
Still family-owned, the winery is managed by María Luz and her son Felipe Marín, who has taken an active role in winemaking and vineyard management. Together, they have maintained a strong commitment to sustainability, handcrafting small-lot wines that reflect their unique terroir. Casa Marín has earned international acclaim, often described as producing some of Chile’s most elegant and refined wines, firmly placing Lo Abarca on the global wine map.
