A rich and complex wine with intense aromas of ripe dark and red fruit, cinnamon and persistent notes of spices. Very versatile with all kinds of mediterranean cuisine, meat recipes and all sort of cheeses.

Product Notes

Castillo Clavijo Rioja Reserva is a full-bodied red wine from Spain's Rioja region. This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, which give it a deep ruby red color, intense aromas of dark fruit, and a rich, velvety texture. The wine is aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, which adds layers of complexity and notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and toasted oak to the flavor profile. On the palate, it has a nice balance of fruit and spice, with a smooth finish. This wine pairs well with grilled meats, hearty stews, and hard cheeses. It is a great choice for special occasions or for a cozy night in by the fireplace.

About the Winery

Castillo Clavijo

Surrounded by mountains, rivers, valleys and castles all around, the Castillo Clavijo winery, located in the heart of Doca Rioja, is a sight to behold, indeed! This place is ideal for growing grapes because it is blessed with the perfect mix of Mediterranean and Atlantic climatic conditions. The majority of the vineyards from where the grapes are sourced for this region are located in the three distinct areas of DOC Rioja namely, Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Baja.
