Tasting Note

This cool-climate Chenin Blanc leads with a fragrant nose of winter melon, stone fruit and broad tropical aromas. This delicious style of Chenin Blanc is refreshing with all the abundance of fruit shared on the palate ending with a crisp, clean, lingering golden delicious apple finish. Be mindful not to serve it too cold so that the broad aromas of this wine may shine though. - Sandy Harper

Product Notes

Cederberg Chenin Blanc is a delicious South African white wine made from the Chenin Blanc grape variety. It is produced in the Cederberg wine region, which lies about two hours north of Cape Town. This wine boasts a light yellow color and offers aromas of tropical fruits, such as pineapple and melon, with hints of honey and vanilla. On the palate, it is refreshing, with flavors of green apple, pear, and citrus, and a subtle touch of oak. It is well-balanced with a crisp acidity that leaves a pleasant and long-lasting finish. Cederberg Chenin Blanc is a great wine to enjoy on its own as an everyday sipper or to pair with seafood, poultry, or creamy sauces.

About the Winery

Cederberg

The history of South Africa’s Cederberg Wines dates back to as early as 1893. It was during this time that the Nieuwoudt family moved to the farm area of Dwarsrivier, today known as the Cederberg Private Cellar and Sanddrif Holiday Resort. Though the farm is quite huge, only around 66 hectares are used for cultivation to protect flora and fauna here. Currently, the fifth generation of the Nieuwoudt family manages the Cederberg wine brand, which is regarded as one of the best high-altitude wines from South Africa.
