About Champagne Lenoble
Champagne AR Lenoble is a historic Champagne house founded in 1920 and based in Damery, in the Vallée de la Marne. Known for its long-standing family heritage and carefully sourced fruit from some of Champagne’s most distinguished terroirs, the house combines nearly a century of tradition with a strong focus on freshness, precision and extended maturation.
The maison was founded by Armand-Raphaël Graser, who arrived in Champagne from Alsace during the First World War. In 1920 he began producing Champagne under the name AR Lenoble – “AR” representing his initials, while “Lenoble” reflected his belief in the nobility of Champagne wine. For much of its history the company remained independent and family-run. During the 1990s, great-grandchildren Anne and Antoine Malassagne took responsibility for the business and developed its reputation internationally.
A significant change came in 2023, when the Frère-Gallienne family acquired a majority interest in AR Lenoble, bringing new investment while maintaining the house’s individual identity.
The maison has particularly strong links with three contrasting terroirs: Chouilly Grand Cru, renowned for Chardonnay; Bisseuil Premier Cru, another important Chardonnay source; and Damery, where Pinot Meunier performs particularly well. This diversity provides the foundation for the house style.
The portfolio includes Intense, Brut Nature, Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, Rosé Terroirs and vintage Champagnes, alongside prestige and parcel-focused releases. A notable feature is the use of long-aged reserve wines, including wines matured in magnums under cork.
AR Lenoble’s Champagnes are defined by freshness, fine texture and complexity, combining generous fruit with mineral precision and the depth provided by extended cellar ageing.
