Tasting Note

NOSE - Huge, powerful; layer on layer of spice, cedar, earth, and tobacco, all over a rich base of ripe black cherry, blackcurrants, cassis and blueberry jam. PALATE - Rich, round, juicy and mouth coating, the palate delivers black cherry and blackcurrant before moving on to brighter red fruits. More subtle tones of butterscotch, anise, and sweet oak complement the fruit beautifully. FINISH -The huge classic structure of fine grain tannin and firm acidity persist all the way through to a clean, crisp, spicy finish.

Product Notes

Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a prime example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This extraordinary single-vineyard wine boasts a rich, complex aroma of black cherry, blackberry, and cassis, which are in perfect harmony with subtle hints of vanilla and spice derived from 24 months of aging in French oak barrels. The richly textured palate is dominated by red and black fruit flavors, with a smooth, seamless finish that lingers for several minutes. The tannins are polished and the acidity is well- balanced, making this wine an ideal pairing for red meats, game fowl, and strong cheeses. The Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a timeless classic that will only continue to improve with age.

About the Winery

Chateau Montelena

Chateau Montelena, the Napa Valley Winery, was established by Alfred Tubbs in the year 1882. He started planting vines in the empty plots nearby his locality and within a decade, the Chateau Montelena Wines became the 7th biggest winery in the entire area of Napa Valley. This winery came into prominence when the Chardonnay white wines crafted here went on to win the very reputed “Judgement of Paris” wine competition.
