Tasting Note

Intense purple in colour, this wine displays aromas of fresh blackberries with hints of cinnamon and toast from time in oak. The palate is rich and well balanced, with a concentrated fruit flavour and vivid but integrated tannins. A powerful wine that can be approached now but also has excellent ageing potential.

About the Winery

Chateau Montgrand-Milon

Chateau Montgrand Milon is a product of Chateau Fonbadet. This is located in Saint Lambert Pauillac, a small village near the Gironde River. The estate has more than 50 years old vines, and some of the most incredible wines, like chateau Montgrand, are born here. The estate creates some of the most affordable and approachable products. Wines from the estate are well balanced and come with silky tannins, lifted finish and great concentrations. The history of the estate dates to the 1700s. Chateau Fonbadet occupies a great terroir between some of the best vintages of Pauillac appellation like Comtesse, Chateaux Pichon Loungueville Baron, Chateau Lynch Bages, Chateau Latour, and Chateau Mouton. The old regime ended in 1789, and this is where Fonbadet vineyard is mentioned in the archives. The current owners are the Peyronie family, with old wine-growing roots.
