Tasting Note

Deep colour with purple reflections. The very expressive and airy nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant, peonies and liquorice. The palate is generous, full and creamy. The acidity and tannins melt together, giving the wine its upright character. The long finish is dominated by smoky aromas, black fruit and mint.

About the Winery

Château Pontet-Canet

Located in the Bordeaux wine region’s Pauillac appellation, Chateau Pontet-Canet is a renowned French winery known for its delectable and high-quality wines. Its history dates back to the time of the early 18th century. The venture started when Jean-François de Pontet, the king’s grand equerry, became Medoc’s governor. He brought together multiple parcels of plots of the Pauillac region.  As time went on, his descendants started adding more vineyards neighbouring the Canet locality. It slowly gave rise to the establishment of Chateau Pontet-Canet. Almost a hundred years later, the 1885 classification included Chateau Pontet-Canet in the list of the elites that practised viticulture in Medoc.
