Chateau Rauzan-Ségla

About Chateau Rauzan-Ségla

Château Rauzan-Ségla is one of the great names of Margaux, producing wines that embody the finesse and elegance for which the appellation is renowned. Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, the estate dates back to the 17th century and has long been admired for the purity of its terroir and consistency of quality. Today owned by the Wertheimer family of Chanel, the château combines deep respect for tradition with meticulous modern vineyard and cellar practices.

The 66-hectare vineyard is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by smaller proportions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Gravelly soils and careful parcel selection allow each variety to express itself with precision. The resulting wines are refined and aromatic, offering notes of blackcurrant, violet and spice, supported by silky tannins and remarkable ageing potential.
