Chatto Wines is a boutique, family-owned winery located in Tasmania’s Huon Valley, one of Australia’s most exciting cool-climate regions. Established in 2007 by renowned winemaker and Master of Wine Jim Chatto, alongside his wife Daisy, the estate was born from a clear vision: to craft world-class Pinot Noir that speaks authentically of site and season. After years of searching, the Chattos identified a north-facing vineyard site at Glaziers Bay, overlooking the Huon River, with ancient soils and a maritime influence ideal for producing premium Pinot Noir.

Jim Chatto brings a wealth of winemaking expertise, having held senior roles at leading Australian wineries and serving as Chair of Judges at the Sydney Royal Wine Show. His deep understanding of terroir and meticulous attention to detail are at the heart of the winery’s philosophy. The focus is firmly on small-batch Pinot Noir, made with minimal intervention to highlight the vineyard’s natural expression. These wines are celebrated for their purity, fine structure, and ability to age gracefully.

Today, Chatto Wines is recognised as one of Tasmania’s benchmark Pinot Noir producers. With a reputation for precision and elegance, the estate continues to showcase the Huon Valley as a world-class region for cool-climate winemaking.
