Product Notes

Clos Saint-Michel Cotes-du-Rhone Rouge Mathilde is a rich and complex red wine from the Rhone Valley, France. This full-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre grapes is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, resulting in a bouquet of ripe berries, cherries, and spicy notes. On the palate, flavors of dark fruit, black olives, and licorice are complemented by a velvety texture and firm tannins. The finish is long and satisfying, with a hint of smoky oak. This wine pairs well with hearty roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. It is also excellent on its own as a standalone delight.

About the Winery

Clos Saint-Michel

Olivier and Franck Mousset, the fourth generation winemakers of the Mousset family, have been making the Clos Saint Michel range of wines to represent the true character of the Rhone Valley in France, where the vines are planted. With the sea close by and an abundant presence of pebbles in the soil, it is no wonder that the wines crafted under this label reflect the fertile nature of the terroirs where the fruits are grown. The Mousset family currently makes wines under four different labels such as Clos Saint Michel, Trend Range, Domaine Guy Mousset and Children of Winegrowers.
