Tasting Note

Has an inky character on the nose, a touch of that dry, pastille and watercolour paintbox character, the fruit cherry-like and bright, the spicy oak subtle in the background. On the palate this bursts with juicy, youthful fruit, very nicely pitched against the acidity and tannins.

Product Notes

Crocus La Roche Mère wine is a luxurious and exquisite French red wine that originates from the prestigious Cahors region. This wine is crafted from the iconic Malbec grape, known for its bold and robust flavors. The name "La Roche Mère" translates to "the mother rock," alluding to the rocky soil in which the vines are grown, imparting a unique minerality to the wine. This rich and full-bodied wine exhibits intense notes of dark fruits, earthy undertones, and velvety tannins. Crocus La Roche Mère is aged in oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and adding a touch of spice to its elegant finish. Savor this exceptional wine with hearty dishes or simply enjoy it on its own for a truly indulgent experience.

About the Winery

Crocus

Crocus is a distinguished winery located in the Cahors appellation of southwest France, a region renowned as the historic home of Malbec. The estate is a collaboration between two visionaries: Paul Hobbs, the celebrated American winemaker known for his work in Napa Valley and Argentina, and Bertrand Gabriel Vigouroux, a fourth-generation French vigneron whose family has been producing wine in Cahors since the 1880s. Their partnership, founded in 2011, was born from a shared ambition to showcase the true potential of Malbec in its original French terroir.
