Tasting Note

Displaying a vibrant garnet hue, this malbec opens with an expressive nose brimming with fresh black and red fruit aromas—gooseberry, strawberry, and blackcurrant. The palate is lively and juicy, showcasing bright elderberry and mulberry flavors, balanced by smooth tannins and a subtle touch of white pepper on the finish.

Product Notes

Crocus L'Atelier Malbec de Cahors is a refined and elegant wine that perfectly encapsulates the essence of the Cahors region in southwest France. Crafted from 100% Malbec grapes, this wine displays a deep, intense purple color with hints of violet. On the nose, rich aromas of black fruits, spices, and earthy undertones tantalize the senses. The palate is full-bodied and well-structured, with velvety tannins and a long, luxurious finish. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to hearty dishes such as roasted meats, stews, and aged cheeses. Crocus L'Atelier Malbec de Cahors is truly a masterpiece that showcases the unique terroir and expertise of the Cahors winemaking tradition.

About the Winery

Crocus

Crocus is a distinguished winery located in the Cahors appellation of southwest France, a region renowned as the historic home of Malbec. The estate is a collaboration between two visionaries: Paul Hobbs, the celebrated American winemaker known for his work in Napa Valley and Argentina, and Bertrand Gabriel Vigouroux, a fourth-generation French vigneron whose family has been producing wine in Cahors since the 1880s. Their partnership, founded in 2011, was born from a shared ambition to showcase the true potential of Malbec in its original French terroir.
