Domaine la Barroche

Domaine La Barroche is a historic, family-owned estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the Barrot family’s roots in the region stretching back to the 14th century. The family acquired its first vineyards in the village in 1703, and today the domaine is run by siblings Julien and Laetitia Barrot. Julien, who joined the estate in 2002, represents a new generation while remaining deeply committed to the family’s traditional vineyards and winemaking heritage.

The estate comprises around 15 hectares, spread across a diverse range of soils including sand, limestone, red clay and rolled pebbles. Grenache is the dominant variety, with many vines over 100 years old, complemented by Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault and other traditional Rhône varieties. Old vines and careful vineyard management are central to the domaine’s philosophy. Domaine La Barroche produces a distinctive range of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, including Julien Barrot, Pure, Fiancée and Pure Blanc, combining concentration and complexity with freshness, finesse and a strong expression of terroir.
