Domaine le Prieuré des Papes

Domaine Le Prieuré des Papes is a 20-hectare estate situated in the northern part of the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, in the renowned Cabrières sector of the southern Rhône. The vineyards are planted on distinctive Grès terroir and are certified organic, with a focus on sustainable viticulture and expressing the character of the site.

The domaine is currently led by Isabelle and Arnaud Strasser, who combine traditional Rhône winemaking with a modern approach aimed at producing fresh, elegant and terroir-driven wines. The estate’s present legal structure dates from 2019, when it was established as Domaine Le Prieuré des Papes, evolving from the former Domaine La Millière.

The name pays homage to the historic Prieuré located beneath the Château de Châteauneuf-du-Pape, once associated with the residence of the popes. Grenache is at the heart of the estate’s red wines, while a tiny one-hectare sandy parcel produces an exceptionally limited white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The range includes Vieilles Vignes, Le Couchant, La Bessade and a limited white cuvée.
