Fidora

Fidora is a pioneering, family-owned winery in Italy's Veneto region, widely recognized as the area's oldest certified organic estate. Originally founded in 1927 when Ferruccio Fidora acquired the historic Civranetta estate, the winery now cultivates vineyards stretching from the Venetian lagoon to the steep hills of Valdobbiadene and Valpolicella.

Organic Pioneers:

In 1974, Guido Fidora completely abandoned insecticides and chemical fertilizers to embrace organic agriculture, a radical decision during an era when Italian farming focused heavily on maximizing crop yields.

Biodynamic Ecosystem:

Fourth-generation winemaker Emilio Fidora elevated this philosophy by achieving Demeter biodynamic certification in 2020. The estate operates as a self-sustaining organism where livestock provide natural fertilizer, and all biodynamic preparations (like silica and chamomile) are meticulously crafted on-site.

Commitment to Biodiversity:

Out of their 160-hectare footprint, at least one-third of the land is intentionally left wild. Forests, natural ponds, and pastures create vital retreats for native wildlife, birds, and insects, completely closing the ecological cycle.

Flagship Varietals:

Coastal Pleistocene soils near Venice produce their crisp, mineral-driven Pinot Grigio and a diverse lineup of Prosecco, including their traditional cloudy Col Fondo. Meanwhile, their isolated hillside plots surrounded by forest guarantee pristine conditions for producing rich Amarone and Valpolicella.

Sustainable Vinification:

Reflecting their environmental ethos, Fidora opened a new four-story, gravity-fed cellar near Verona in 2024. Powered entirely by solar energy, the facility moves grapes gently without mechanical pumps, ensuring exceptional clarity and purity in the final wines.
