About Goldeneye
Goldeneye is a leading producer of premium Pinot Noir in California’s Anderson Valley, founded in 1996 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn of Duckhorn Vineyards. Established with a vision to craft world-class Pinot Noir from cool-climate vineyards, Goldeneye released its first vintage in 1997, producing just 375 cases. Since then, the winery has grown into one of Anderson Valley’s most significant Pinot Noir producers.
The estate encompasses four vineyards totaling approximately 200 acres (81 hectares), each expressing a distinct aspect of Anderson Valley terroir. Narrows Vineyard, the northernmost and coolest site, benefits from strong Pacific influences, while Split Rail and Gowan Creek sit in the valley’s centre, shaped by coastal fog and moderate temperatures. Further south, Confluence Vineyard, located near the headwaters of the Navarro River, enjoys greater protection from maritime conditions.
Goldeneye produces single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from each estate site, alongside its Anderson Valley Pinot Noir and the flagship Ten Degrees cuvée. Named for the temperature variation between the estate’s northernmost and southernmost vineyards, Ten Degrees is crafted from the finest lots across the estate and matured for 16 months in 100% new French oak.
In addition to Pinot Noir, Goldeneye also produces a Brut Rosé sparkling wine, a Gewürztraminer from Confluence Vineyard and a Pinot Gris from Split Rail Vineyard. The winery forms part of the Duckhorn Portfolio, which also includes Kosta Browne Winery. Duckhorn became a publicly traded company in 2021.
